I have always been intrigued by ancient Egyptians, and this book offers insight into their origin and evolution. The ideas and assessments put forth by the authors are well thought out, and backed by reliable scholarship and data. This is the type of history that provokes more inquiry. Great read, there are a lot of information about Imhotep you won't find anywhere else and if you love Ancient Egypt this book is a must read. It is my third Robert Bauval book in 2015, and once again I enjoyed myself. Reading about Heliopolis and the important role the Great Priest of Iounou (which is how Heliopolis was called by the ancient egyptians, the hebrews called it ON I believe) played in the Ancient Egyptian Kingdom reminded me of some text from the book of Geneses stating that Joseph became Vizir of the Pharao and how he married Asenath the daughter of Potipherah, priest of On (Iounou) that's probably not a coincidence since this city was well known in ancient time as the center of wisdom. You will read about the legend of the Phoenix called Benu in ancient Egypt and you will learn the origin of this wonderful people that left a legacy that still baffle modern scholars, engineers and architect alike. I think you should just read this book and make your own opinion. Enjoy and Hotep
