About Robin Walker 

Robin Walker, also known as The Black History Man, was born in London in 1967.

In 1996 Robin Walker co-edited the first of a series of seminal lifestyle surveys. The Black Community Report 1996 was commissioned by Amenta Marketing and published in the UK. A year later, the equally important Black Child Report 1997 appeared, again co-edited for Amenta Marketing. Also in 1997, he edited The Alarm Journal.

In 1999 he wrote Classical Splendour: Roots of Black History published in the UK by Bogle L'Ouverture Publications. In the same year, he co-authored The West African Empire of Songhai, a textbook that is used by many schools across the country. In 2000 he co-authored Sword, Seal and Koran, the best study there has ever been on the Songhai Empire of West Africa.

For the Peoples Science Intelligence Unit, he was sole editor of the Black Community Report 2000, the Black Child Report 2001, and the incomparable Asian Community Report 2001. In 2005 he wrote the script for the independent documentary History Report: In Search of African Splendor.

In 2006 he wrote When We Ruled. This work is the single most advanced historical synthesis on the history of Africa and its people. It has established Walker as the leading authority on the topic in the English speaking world. In 2008 he wrote Before The Slave Trade which developed some of the themes in When We Ruled

This literature feels like a great starting point for the novice african/black history student as Walker references his influences positive and negative as well as other pioneering authors and scholars whom have gifted the black community/the world with valuable content. Any self proclaimed veterans of African history were forewarned by Walker about reiteration of material as well as for who the scope of this work was designed in the first 15 pgs. To reduce the value of this literature by negating stars based on “the repetitive nature” of the book or its novice perspective is highly disingenuous and in my opinion should be discarded. This book is based on the ancient belief in a third eye: a different way of “seeing” that leads to higher states of awareness and consciousness. The pineal gland has been shown to have a direct connection to the third eye, but most western traditions ignore the connection and very few in the west have any idea that it is even possible to access a different state of being. This is a detailed and step by step guide that provides at least 15 different methods of accessing your third eye, as well as explores how internal motivation (or lack thereof) may impact your ability to access different states of consciousness. It posits that everyone has a third eye, psychic abilities, and the internal facility to reach a higher state.
It first very persuasively goes over the scientific evidence for a third eye, and then touches on a variety of methods for getting to it, including yantra meditation, reflexology, acupressure, chanting, mudra and visualization/hypnosis. There is some attention given to psychic abilities and astral projection as well. The guide does an excellent job of explaining the rather complicated concept of a third eye and of presenting the evidence for its existence and its connection to the pineal gland. And then gives highly usable, easy to follow explanations of how each method for reaching your own third eye works. In other words you have to put in the work to gain the rewards and trust me when I say rewards. This is not for the closed minded individuals. This is the truth not a religion as some may see it. Spirituality is not a religion! This is how our ancient ancestors where and still applies to today. Although this book was written in 2001 its relevancy is just as important today. Again I suggest this book 100% to all women but mostly my women of color because we are the lost ones who need to reconnect to our roots and not what was given to us after everything about our real history was destroyed.
